We took a little trip to St. Augustine Beach. We haven't been back there since Ian was an infant. It's so hard to believe that so much time has passed and he was in an infant carrier last time and now walking across the beach. It was not quite the warm sunny weekend we had hoped, but we had fun anyway. Ian had a blast in the sand. We hope to go back real soon.

Our Baby is 1!
Well a whole year has come and gone, and we can't believe it! Ian will be 1 year old on Thursday the 19th. We've definitely been remembering the year and all the fun we've had since Ian was born. It's gone so fast, but at the same time, it feels like we've lived 10 years in just a year. When we chose his name, Ian Matthew, based on the meanings "God is gracious" and "gift from God," we had no idea how true it is! From the moment Ian was born, he has been such a gift. He has always had such a happy, layed-back, playful demeanor. He loves to laugh and play and is such a wonderful communicator. He has always been a great eater too! From changing lots of diapers and sleepless nights to eating Cheerios and baby food and cracking up laughing, dancing, and walking, Ian has brought us so much joy through all of it. As he gets older, he's saying more and more words (or signing them) and doing more things. He's so curious and wants to climb everything. We celebrated his birthday this past Saturday and realize how blessed and loved he is. Here are a few pictures.

Ian walking by himself
Ian started "walking" a couple weeks ago, but he pretty much only does it when he wants to, so until now we haven't had a video. He finally did it enough times today that I could catch a quick video.
Here's also a video that we had taken a couple weeks ago of him laughing when he drops food off the high chair to Mikey.

Party
We've had a great relaxing weekend. Lately, Ian likes to do this funny scrunched up face and blow air in and out of his nose. Ian took his first two steps yesterday and today said, "Da-da.....hiiiiii." Today Ian went to a birthday party and had so much fun. He's feeling a lot better this week and has so much energy. He's really got quite the appetite too and loves eating chicken and cheese. Here's some pictures from the weekend.
